Afro-Latin_Hip Hop_Funky Beats


The creators of Bombay Chill in partnership with BASS music festival present a night of Afro-Latin, Hip Hop and funky beats with live music – Urban Junglee.

Artistic voices from Lebanon, Canada, Punjab, South Africa and the UK unite in a vibrant showcase, representing ‘unsung heroes’ through Hip Hop, Funk, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Reggae, Jazz and Afro-Indo-Latino world rhythms and genres.

Headlining on the evening: live music from RAJU MALI and his Ensemble,
an international bonanza of Hip Hop, Reggae, World Jazz with Global Sounds ft Shankojam, Kim Trusty, LT and Vince Gould guided by cultural warrior Eugene Skeef.

DJs dropping funky Afro/Latin and Hip Hop beats Deesh + Trew Selector + Didg with Skins as compere.

Platform Promotions presents Sympathy State + One Eyes Blue

From April The Cross in conjunction with Platform Promotions has been running a new quid’s in night on every other Wednesday. The night has drink promos and is a bit of a pre Snobs warm up!

Each night has two quality local or out of town band on and indie dj tunes spinning till 11.30

One Eyes Blue:

‘With a little bit of Rock and a little bit of Roll, a little bit of Blues and a little bit of Soul One Eyes Blue’s unique blend of popular music has bought them to the fore-front of the Midlands music scene

One Eyes Blue have recently supported the likes of ;
The Zutons, Maximo Park, The Maccabees, Jack Penate, Tiny Dancers, OK GO, The Holloways, Two Gallants, The Thrills amongst many others.

One Eyes Blue have recently travelled to SXSW in Austin, Texas to promote their material on a wider scale.

One Eyes Blue, still in their early 20's, draw upon influences from all over. Their sound has evolved from listening to Rock and Roll, Folk, Blues, Soul, Pop & Country music and admire bands and artists such as Crosby Stills and Nash, Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly, Nina Simone, Sam Cooke, Curtis Mayfield, Ben E. King, The Stray Cats, Blondie, Neil Young, Son House, Dexy's, Steve Earle, Jonathan Richman.
