'though relative newcomers to the derby scene dead in the queue have quickly risen to the upper echleons of nappy rash favourite bands. reminiscent to these ears of the second wave of bands that emerged post 76 but also and crucially of the australian bands of that era. this is not to say they are not themselves either because they are. we leave tribute acts to the flowerpot.'

'Next were Dead In The Queue. Man, what a fun band live! So often, punky bands tend to have a tedious fake “oooh, we’re angry, we’re going to abuse the audience” attitude. There was none of that bullshit from DITQ, they just played a storming set of garagey, shouty, singalongy punk that would bring a tear to the eyes of any Dead Boys or Dolls fan. And they had FUN so we had FUN!"

“Unfortunately I missed the beginning of Derby skunk-punk band Dead In The Queue but, from the second song onwards, it was full throttle. Soundgarden speeded up, Bad Brains slowed down. It's a shame that they played to a mostly vacated room because, in a packed house, these guys would rip it up. Tonight though, despite playing a damn fine set, it just wasn't to be.”
