The OXES are back, and in grand style. After spending time apart getting married in Italy, delivering pizzas, worshipping football great Ray Lewis, and perfecting the art of the "claw" the OXES have returned to put their finest tunes to date on tape in THREE years!
Recorded by the OXES in their way fab home studio in the outskirts of Baltimore, the OXES EP is a maddening chunk of rock'n'roll, containing signature OXES' stadium riffage, drum spills and fills, and sense of humor.
But, this release is a turning point in the OXES songwriting as they dabble in more straight forward rock numbers, and more, well mental rock numbers. Playing with time signatures, guitar leads/solos, off kilter rhythms, and even remixing a song, the OXES have taken a step into a slightly new direction.

And above all else, he’s a tireless performer, averaging more than 100 shows a year for the past two and a half decades.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon Open mic night with Birmingham New Music Scene.
This is the second monthly open mic night. Last months event went down well and this month it will be even better with even more performers. If you want to perform send them a message through their myspace, with the link below.

Birmingham New Music Scene are a group of individuals who love music and want to put on events for like minded people who want to share their musical talents or thoughts with other music lovers.

On the 27th July 2008 from 6.00pm there will be an open mic session open to all (please bring your own instruments)this is first come first served so come early if you want to perform. Any performers who impress on the night will be asked if they would like to perform at future gigs so make sure you bring your "A" game but most of all enjoy it.

Birmingham Bands Special!!!

What a line-up Hott Date have got together here, seems like most of the Midlands best indie, new wave, post punk and rock bands are all playing on the same bill. In between the bands are some of Birmingham's DJ's mixing up Indie, Alternative and Electro tunes.
